Anna Maria Island is home to a plethora of piers. Next to the soft sandy beaches, AMI's piers are the next biggest attraction. You definitely do not want to go home from your vacation having not stepped foot over the emerald green waters on one or all of the Anna Maria Island's darling piers. If you like history, you may want stop into the Anna Maria Island Historical Society to brush up on your knowledge.
How many piers are on Anna Maria Island, you ask? There are three wood piers, all with a some element of drinks, dining, and of course fishing. There are also three concrete fishing piers in Bradenton Beach on the south end of the Island. The Anna Maria City Pier is currently undergoing construction. It should be completed by the summer of 2020. You can rent poles from many places on the Island and there are few bait shops that are more than willing to share their local knowledge.
